Karen Sinclair is a self-taught artist who specialises in vibrant, sometimes experimental acrylic painting.
From October to December, Karen will guide you as you explore acrylic painting, showing you how to bring your ideas to life in a painting that reflects your own creative vision. You may choose from reference materials provided, bring a picture of your own, or even a painting you've started and need some help with!
The term will follow a loose structure but you can join at any time depending on what you want to achieve:
Oct 20 & 27: Preparing your painting - selecting your subject and drawing it up.
Nov 3 to Dec 8*: Producing your painting - transferring to your canvas, underpainting, blocking, light and shadow, adding texture.
Dec 15*: Finishing - adding your finer details and varnishing your work.
*December classes will be two hours long, running from 12.30 to 2.30pm.
Materials and light snacks are provided.
