Saturdays 12 to 4pm - January 20 to February 17 - All Ages - Koha
Bridget Gowan is an artist, maker and creative based in Te Papaioea (Palmerston North). For Bridget, toi (art) is natural and part of everyday life. Her work is layered, contemplative, nostalgic, and often inspired by nature. Her favourite mediums include acrylic painting, textiles, rāranga (Māori weaving), surface pattern and digital artwork.
Crafternoons are a series of Saturday art classes in which Bridget will share some of her favourite artforms through small projects that can be completed in an afternoon.
Classes run in 2024, and are:
Jan 20: Weaving with T-shirt yarn
Jan 27 - Decorative plates and upcycled jewellery
Feb 3 - Upcycled ceramics and glass
Feb 17 - Painted wall hangings and fabric garlands
Bridget sees art as joyful, theraputic, challenging and fun - and that's what Crafternoons are all about! Come to as many or as few classes as you like.
Materials and light snacks are provided.
