Guest Artist: Dennis Greenwood
We are proud to be hosting Dennis Greenwood as the Guest Artist for Manawatū Art Expo in 2023. Dennis is a landscape painter living with his novelist partner in the country on the outskirts of Levin. His qualifications are in graphic design/illustration & teaching, and he have taught visual arts and graphic design at both tertiary and secondary levels.
"I love drawing & painting with paper & water-based paints [...] My passion for the NZ outdoors results in my subject matter most often being the topography and ‘moods’ of this environment. Although I enjoy stylized and abstract works, I seem to always come back to naturalistic depictions."
Silent Auction - Original Karl Maughan Painting!
Peter Christensen has generously donated a Karl Maughan painting to the Feilding and District Art Society, to be auctioned off at Manawatū Art Expo.
Peter is an art collector in Auckland, and an old boy of Feilding who attended FAHS and went on to complete his degree at Massey University. Peter has an affinity with Feilding, particularly the Feilding Art Centre. His generous donation of a Karl Maughan piece will contribute to the Society's work in enriching our community through visual art.
Karl Maughan is an internationally-renowned artist born in the Manawatū. His work often features in the catalogues of high profile dealer galleries and auction houses, with his botanical subject matter popular among casual buyers and collectors alike. You can learn more about Karl and his art by visiting the Page Galleries website.
To bid in the silent auction, visit Feilding Art Centre any time between now and July 12, or come along to Manawatū Art Expo - bids will be open until 2pm on Sunday July 16. Remote bids may be made via the 'contact us' button at the bottom of this page.
Please note: the image above is an example only - the work on auction is on display exclusively at Feilding Art Centre.
