Celebrating Local Creativity Since 1969
Feilding has long been home to a vibrant community of artists and art groups, united by a shared passion for enriching the town through visual arts. In 2003 these creative groups came together to establish the Feilding and District Art Society - now managing the Feilding Art Centre a thriving hub with over 200 members contributing to the cultural heartbeat of our region.

Weâre honoured to be recognised for our commitment to creativity, connection, and community impact - celebrating the power of the arts to uplift and unite.
We house a significant collection of Salvador Dalà etchings and Joan Miró lithographs, showcased annually at the Manawatƫ Art Expo. Selected pieces are made available for sale or auction, with others carefully retained to support ongoing education and public engagement.
Each July, we host the Manawatƫ Art Expo - our annual fundraiser and celebration of regional talent. And every November, we launch our Annual Calendar Fundraiser, featuring local art and offering businesses a chance to support the arts while gaining community visibility.
Step inside the Art Centre and youâll find a warm, welcoming space showcasing monthly exhibitions by both emerging and established artists. From the nationally celebrated ManawatĆ« Art Awards to the expressive works of our ManawatĆ« Youth Art Exhibition, our gallery celebrates creativity across all ages and stages.
Our shop is a treasure trove of handcrafted art - paintings, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, and more - perfect for gifts or a special treat. Weâre proud to hold original Joan MirĂł lithographs and Salvador DalĂ etchings, generously gifted to us for public enjoyment and education.
Upstairs, our Affordable Art Classes nurture young creatives aged 5â14, supported by CCNZ and Trillian Trust. Downstairs, weekday mornings buzz with artist-led workshops and have-a-go groups, where creatives gather to share, learn, and connect. For local businesses, our Creative Team Building Workshops offer a fresh way to spark imagination and build connection.
Behind it all is the Feilding and District Art Society: a dedicated board, two staff members, and approximately 52 volunteers contributing more than 3,500 hours each year. Their generosity and energy fuel everything we do - from exhibition installs to community outreach.
