Life at Tangimoana
Presented by Linda Dickens
Zone 2 at the Feilding Art Centre - June 2026
Life at Tangimoana celebrates the rhythm, colour, and character of coastal living through a series of large and medium oil paintings by Manawatū artist Linda Dickens. Her works capture the essence of seaside life - families on the beach, fishing boats heading out at dawn, horses moving across open sand, and the glow of Manawatū’s unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. Expansive rural landscapes sit alongside intimate lifestyle scenes, offering a heartfelt portrait of a community shaped by the sea.
Linda’s lifelong connection to art runs deep. Raised in a family of artists, she grew up surrounded by creativity - from her grandmother’s successful work in Eastbourne to her mother’s involvement in the Whangārei Art Society and her sister Carolyn Henderson’s acclaimed international exhibitions. Linda’s own career has taken her from early solo shows at Square Edge to exhibitions in Hastings, Auckland, and even Cassino, Italy, where her donated works continue to be displayed annually.
Despite facing significant health challenges, Linda’s passion for painting remains unwavering. She continues to create bold, expressive oil works that honour the landscapes and people she loves. Life at Tangimoana is a testament to her resilience, her heritage, and her deep affection for the coastal world that inspires her.
