The Feilding and District Art Society runs four open call exhibitions throughout the year.

Entries for the 2024 Members' Awards are now open. All financial members of the Society are eligible to submit up to two works across five categories.

Entries for the 2024 Members' Awards exhibition are open to members of the Feilding and District Art Society, now until April 26.

Key Dates

Friday 26th of April: Final date for the submission of artworks, entry forms and fees*. No further entries will be accepted after this date. 

Thursday 2nd of May: Judging to take place. 

Friday 3rd of May at 5.30pm: Members’ Awards prize-giving and exhibition opening. 

Thursday 30th of May: Final day of Members Awards exhibition. 

Monday 3rd of June: Those with sold works will receive payment advice. 

Friday 7th of June: All unsold works must have been collected by this date, or have been transferred to the Feilding Art Centre shop via completion of a Consignment Agreement.

Key Criteria

  • All artists entering work must pay a fee of $15, irrespective of the number of works being entered.

  • Entries are limited to two pieces per artist.

  • Each artwork must be for sale. We recommend submitting works with a price range of $50-$500.

Full Terms and Conditions

  •  All entrants must be current financial members of the Feilding and District Art Society.

  • A non-refundable entry fee of $15.00 (incl. GST) per artist applies. The fee must be paid upon registration.

  • A limit of two artworks may be submitted by any one artist.

  • All work must be for sale. Artworks will be sold exclusively through the Feilding and District Art Society. During the exhibition, these artworks cannot be available for sale elsewhere.

  • Each item must be clearly labelled with: Artist’s name, Title, Item number (see Entry Form), Category, Section and Price.

  • All works must be presented ready for display.

  • Hanging works must be framed or mounted, complete with D-rings and cord. D-rings should be positioned no more one-third of the way down the frame.

  • Freestanding artworks must be suitable for display on a plinth (no floor-mounted work)

  • All work must be wholly original and adhere to copyright laws - Where an artist has used a reference image not their own, their source must be clearly labelled.

  • Works must have been completed within the last 12 months and not previously exhibited.

  • Whilst all reasonable care will be taken of exhibits, it is the responsibility of the artist to insure their work. The Feilding and District Art Society takes no responsibility for damaged artwork.

  • The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence entered into.

  • Judges reserve the right not to award a prize in any given category.

  • All work will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

  • A 30% commission will be charged on all sales.

  • Artwork sales will be communicated on the first business day following the closure of the exhibition and net sales proceeds debited into the artist’s bank account by the 20th of the following month.

  • In the case where a work is sold on layby, the artist will receive payment on the 20th of the month after the artwork is paid for in full.

  • All works not sold are to be uplifted or transferred to the Feilding Art Centre shop no later than 4.00pm, Friday 7th of June.

  • The Feilding and District Art Society reserves the right to exclude from display any artworks which: Cannot be accommodated due to inadequate wall or floor space; Display themes or images which it deems offensive.

  • Any artwork not compliant with the Terms and Conditions will be rejected with no refund issued.

     

    Additional Conditions - 3D Art:

  • Pottery, ceramic art and bisque ware, which has not been manufactured by exhibitor, must be acknowledged.

     

    Additional Conditions - Textile Art:

  • Knitted, crocheted and woollen articles must be made from homespun wool, and specified if not the work of the exhibitor with credit to be given to the source (this does not apply to weaving, where accent thread is allowed).

  • Work to be pressed and rolled, if possible, to prevent creasing.

  • Fibre work must have a care and content label attached – for clothing items, this label must be sewn into the garment.

     Outside the Square:

  • To enter, the work submitted must be in a category that the Member does not normally exhibit in.
