Small Works Exhibitoin

The Feilding and District Art Society welcomes artists to submit small works for August’s Small Works Exhibition.

Any artwork under 15cm on its longest edge qualifies.

Enjoy creating, have fun, and join us for light‑hearted awards judged by the local miniature society - including the coveted prize for the smallest artwork.

Open to all artists, not just members.

Key Dates:

  • Friday July 31, 4pm: Final date for the submission of artworks, entry forms and fees*. No further entries will be accepted after this date.

  • Friday August 7, 5.30pm: Exhibition opening

  • Monday August 31st collection during the day. Final day of Small Works exhibition – collection of works from 10am – 4pm, unless otherwise organised with FADAS team.

Key Criteria

1.      The Small Works Exhibition is open to artists working in all media, so long as the artwork submitted is no larger than 15cm on the longest side.

2.      For framed artwork, the frame is NOT included in the overall dimensions.

3.      Entries are not limited by number, however the curatorial team will be selective if too many are entered by one artist, and priority will be given to art that works well together.

4.      An entry fee of $25 (incl. GST) for non-members and $20 (incl. GST) for members - per artist applies regardless of the number of entries.

Full Terms and Conditions

  • A non-refundable entry fee of $20.00 / $25.00 (incl. GST) per artist must be paid upon registration.

  • The deadline for registration and artwork delivery is 4.00pm on Friday 31st of July.

  • Each item must be clearly labelled with a swing tag including: Artist’s Name, Title, Medium and Price.

  • Works must be presented ready for display: framed works must be strung with D-rings and cord. Three-dimensional works must be freestanding or accompanied by a suitable stand.

  • All work must be wholly original and adhere to copyright laws - Where an artist has used a reference image not their own, their source must be clearly cited. Works produced in a class or workshop are not permitted.

  • Whilst all reasonable care will be taken of exhibits, it is the responsibility of the artist to insure their work. The Feilding and District Art Society takes no responsibility for damaged artwork.

  • All work must remain on display at Feilding Art Centre for the duration of the exhibition.

  • A commission will be charged on all sales: 30% for members of the Feilding and District Art Society and 40% for non-members. Works entered are to be sold exclusively through Feilding Art Centre.

  • Payment for sold works will be made to the artist no later the 20th of the following month.

  • If a work is sold on layby, the artist will receive payment on the 20th of the month after the artwork is paid for in full. The artwork will remain on site at Feilding Art Centre until full payment is received.

  • It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure they meet all tax obligations, including payment of GST (if applicable) for income they receive from artwork sales.

  • All works not sold can be collected during open hours on Monday the 31st of August – no earlier unless agreed with staff prior.

  • The Feilding and District Art Society reserves the right to exclude from display any artwork not compliant with terms and conditions or considered unsuitable for display, at our sole discretion.
